ExWeb is reporting that Italian skier Michele Fait fell to his death on the slopes of K2 yesterday morning. Fait was skiing down from Camp Two to the south-southeast ridge with his Swedish climbing partner Fredrik Ericsson. The pair was attempting to become the first team to ski successfully from the summit and were on an Corum 163-150-20-0F02-EB30R Men's watch acclimatizing climb. After the fall, Ericsson and world-class climbing guide Fabrizio Zangrilli, leader of the first commercial expedition up the mountain, attempted to recover Faits body but high avalanche danger postponed the effort. Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer arrived unannounced at the Nevada City Classic in Nevada City, California to compete in the west coasts longest running bike race. Twenty thousand spectators crowded the narrow sidewalks of this former Corum 082-181-20-F701-SHRK Men's watch mining town to watch Armstrong pedal his way to victory. The 90 minute race lapped a 1.1 mile loop around the Sierra foothills. It was the races 49th year.
